Peggy Miller Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 15, 2025.
Peggy Lucille Thomas was born in Jackson, Ohio on August 29, 1935. She was one of three daughters born to the union of Raymond "Tommy" Thomas and Bessie Evelyn (Shenefield) Thomas. She attended Jackson Schools in Jackson, Ohio and although she didn't finish high school, she was proud to later obtain her diploma through the Dundee High School Adult Education in 1988.
Peggy married the love of her life, Robert Miller, on November 3, 1951. The couple were blessed with the birth of seven children. Peggy cared for the needs of her family as a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and an excellent cook. She was well known for her homemade noodles that she provided fresh for every family event.
Peggy knew the value of family. During the Summer months she often had more than a dozen children under her watch, teaching them all how to be a family. Two generations of Millers had the opportunity to play outside, have fun and spend time with their cousins. She was small in stature, yet she wasn't afraid to keep the youth in line. She also knew how to have a good time with many visitors catching her dancing to CMT in the living room. She loved her grandchildren and was an amazing influence in their lives.
Peggy was a woman of devout Christian faith. She was very active with Amazing Grace Baptist Church and later at Dundee Baptist Church. She was instrumental in the founding of the Dundee Sportsman Club Ladies Auxiliary where she had been a member since 1972. She was also very involved with Dundee Scouting for decades.
Even though she relocated to Southeast Michigan where she spent most of her life, she remained an ardent Ohio State Buckeye football fan.
Peggy Lucille Miller, age 90 of Dundee passed away peacefully at Medilodge of Monroe on Thursday; November 13, 2025. Her passing was preceded by her parents; her beloved husband: Robert Miller; a sister: Donnagene Dement; and a grandson: Chance Huss.
To cherish her memory she leaves her nine children: Robert "Bob" (Alice) Miller of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Richard (Gloria) Miller of Monroe, John (Sherry) Miller of Dundee, Jim Miller of North Adams, Michigan, Bill Miller (Sheila Morris) of Taylor, Thomas (Kelly) Miller of Dundee, Penny (Raymond) Lavigne of Dundee, a nephew and niece that she proudly raised as her own children: Ernie (Laurie) Fisher of Dundee and Julie Fisher of Monroe; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a sister: Mary McKinney of Jackson, Ohio.
