Mrs. Peggy Jean Lamb Morefield, 87, of Calhoun, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024.

Mrs. Morefield was born in Van Wert, Ohio, on September 22, 1937, the daughter of the late James “Russell” Lamb and Dorothy Brown Lamb. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Denny Morefield; brothers, Don Lamb and Danny Stetler; daughter-in-law, Tammy Morefield; and great grandson Laytin Hines.

She was a loving wife to her late husband of 69 years, Joseph David Morefield, who passed away on November 22, 2020, and a precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She loved the Lord and her family above all and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She loved her church family and singing in the choir. She was a dedicated prayer warrior. One of the highlights of her ministry was running a bus route with her sons and husband when she lived in Ohio. They brought countless people to church to learn and grow in the Lord. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to laugh and fellowship with her family and friends.

She had several occupations over her working career but the one she found most fulfilling was being a licensed realtor with Paul Clark Reality.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra Klausing of Van Wert, OH, Joanna (Rocky) Elrod of Calhoun, GA and son Jeff Morefield of Van Wert, OH; daughter-in-law Judy Morefield of Van Wert, OH sister Karen Parson of Van Wert, OH; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Jean Lamb Morefield will be conducted Monday, December 30th from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. The Morefield family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM service will follow.

The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family.
