Peggy Jean Pearson, a long time resident of Sharon Springs, Kansas, passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2026, just a day after her 92nd birthday. Born on February 13th, 1934, in Weskan, Kansas, Peggy was the daughter of Ray Welsh and Clara Blodgett Welsh. She attended and graduated from Weskan School. Later in life, she graduated from Cosmetology school in Denver, Colorado.
Peggy's career in Cosmetology allowed her to touch the lives of many. She demonstrated a deep care for her clients, treating each one with kindness and respect.
Beyond her career, Peggy dedicated much of her time to Bible study, discipleship, and sharing her faith with others. Gardening and cooking were among her hobbies, reflecting her love for flowers and gatherings. Peggy was a member of Gateway to Grace Church, and the Gideons, all evidencing her commitment to faith, sharing the gospel, and community.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Clara Welsh, her sister Violet and husband Bill Wolfe, and her loving husband of 54 years - Cyrus Pearson. Her generous spirit and unwavering dedication to those she loved will be profoundly missed.
She is survived by her brother, John Welsh and wife Elaine of Weskan; her children: Gloria Robinson and husband Greg of Weskan; Larry Townsend and wife Cindy of Weskan; Stan Townsend and wife Tonia from Andale; and Lisa Dewees and husband Rick of Sharon Springs. Peggy also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren who will carry her legacy forward, remembering her faith.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Peggy’s life at a memorial service on February 21, 2026, commencing at 11:00 AM at Gateway to Grace Church, located at 201 E. 2nd St., Sharon Springs, KS.
