Peggy Rhymer Obituary
Peggy Ann Rhymer (Carroll, 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
Born on April 20, 1956 in Yancey County, she settled in McDowell County where she raised her family. She was a caregiver for her mother whom she cherished, Mrs. Alma Ruth Carroll Yule, who preceded her in death. She worked for many years at McDowell Hospital as a Unit Coordinator where she had many friends that she loved dearly.
Her husband, Rick Allen Rhymer, also preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Bridgette Sellers (Jay) and Barbara Fields (partner Chad); and her ultimate joy, her two granddaughters, Jayda Sellers and Alivia Fields. She also had a sister that she loved dearly, Donna Carroll Wright and her husband, Larry.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Reverend Ricky Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Old Fields Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Appalachian Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.
