Gregory Taft “Snapper” Rhymer, 51, of Marion, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Mission McDowell Hospital.
Snapper was born in McDowell County, NC, on January 1, 1974, to Kay Woody and the late Richard Allen Rhymer. He was a hard worker and was known for his sense of humor. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix most anything. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, many genres of music, and was an avid comic book enthusiast who never knew a stranger. Snapper was a loving husband and father who took care of his family. He will be always be loved and remembered by many friends.
In addition to his father, Snapper was preceded in death by a brother, Terrell Alexander Rhymer.
He is survived by his wife, Johanna Rhymer; his mother, Kay Woody; and two sons, Connor Rhymer (Faith) and Lucas Rhymer (Calli).
The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, at Beam Funeral Service.
