Peggy Dawn Coon Salazar, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on September 18, 1946, she led a life filled with creativity. Peggy had a wonderful flair for celebration. She cooked, decorated, crafted, and her unique attention to details brought every event to the next level.
Peggy married the love of her life, Gary Curtis Salazar, on March 26, 1964. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories until Gary's passing. Peggy was preceded in death by her mother Velda Harman, father Don Coon, step father Robert Harman, brother Blair Jones, sister Gwyn Harman, and her husband Gary Curtis Salazar.
She is survived by her loving children: Guy (Robin) Salazar, Chad (Heidi) Salazar, Holley Anderson, and Gabe (Sarah) Salazar. Peggy's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Guy Clayton (Emmy) Salazar, Kylee Ann LaVee Salazar, Gibson Craig Salazar, Danika Salazar, Alyssa Price, JT (Chelsea Montoya) Anderson, Savanah Anderson, Myles Anderson, Cooper (Kenzie) Salazar, Sydnee Salazar, Shelby Salazar, Gunnar Salazar, Sloane Salazar, and Stacie Salazar, as well as her great-grandchildren: Jayden Anderson, Calvin Salazar, Rory Salazar, Liam Salazar, and Griffin Salazar.
Peggy’s generous spirit earned her the title in her ward as the Candy Lady. She dedicated her life to her family. Her home was a place of comfort and everyone loved her great cooking and food. Peggy’s love for the gospel and her Savior knew no bounds. Her family and friends will remember her for her unwavering support, her kind heart, the countless ways she touched their lives, and her homemade English Muffins.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring the remarkable woman Peggy was and the incredible legacy she leaves behind. A Viewing service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held on July 18, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm and July 19, 2024, from 10 to 11 am, at 12242 South 2700 West Riverton, Utah. Memorial services will be held from 11 am to 12 pm on July 19, 2024 at 12242 South 2700 West Riverton
Peggy Dawn Coon Salazar will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
