Peggy Susan Schell, age 75, peacefully left this world to reunite with her Savior, June 16th, 2023, at St. Marks Hospital, after a short illness.
She was born November 27th, 1947 in Pocatello, Idaho to Lewis and Laura Selders. She grew up on the family farm where she enjoyed riding horses and helping her Daddy harvest potatoes. While in high school she enjoyed performing on the stage and making people laugh with her silly characters and accents. One day at a friends’ house, she saw this very handsome guy sitting in the corner reading the comic page of the paper. He was shy, but that didn’t stop her from getting to know her soon to be lifelong boyfriend, Jerry George Schell. They later married on June 4th, 1966 in Chubbuck, Idaho. They just celebrated 57 years of marriage before her passing. They made their new home in American Falls, Idaho and started their family with their first daughter, Geraldine, followed by Heidi. Their third daughter, Stacey, was born when they lived for a short time in Rock Springs where Jerry began working for Church & Dwight. Their final child, son, Jason, was born after they moved to Lyman, Wyoming, where they have continued to live and raise their children together.
Peggy was always a very loving and caring mother and her children meant the world to her. She served her church family and community well. She served as the Baptist church secretary for many years. She also served on the Lyman School Board. She worked as the office manager for several years for Farmers Insurance Company. She was voted Lyman’s Citizen of the Year for her service on the Beautification Committee. Among these community services, Peggy devoted 25 years educating many mothers and fathers by sharing her knowledge of natural childbirth.
Peggy impacted many people’s lives by sharing her faith in the Lord and how His love could change their lives, too. She was an amazing prayer warrior and loved singing her favorite hymns in church. Peggy definitely believed that she would one day be in the arms of her Lord!
Peggy so enjoyed her grand and great grand children! Her eyes would light up when they were around, even when she was at her sickest.
Peggy was preceded by death by both her parents, her daughter, Stacey, two brothers, Ted and Jack Selders, and one sister, Mary-Ellen Call, and a grandson, Luke.
Peggy is survived by her loving boyfriend & husband, Jerry, her two daughters, Geraldine Schell-Sing and her husband Fred Sing, Heidi Schell and her husband Russell Anderson, her son, Jason and his wife Jennifer, her youngest sister Marjean and husband Corey Choules, and oldest brother, Mike Selders. Peggy had 6 grandchildren, Kaylan, Chaz, Kellianne, Kobe, Saffren, and Piper. She also gained many more when her oldest daughter remarried. She was thrilled to have more children to love! Peggy enjoyed her 3 great-grandchildren, Kymber, Nova, and Alicen, and would soon have had another great-grandson to arrive.
Peggy’s family will have a Celebration of Life for her Idaho family and friends, June 24th, 2023, in Chubbuck Idaho from 12-2:00 pm at 4924 Spraker Street. A Celebration of Life for her family and friends in Bridger Valley will be set at a later date.
