Peggy Seegar Obituary
Jacksonville - Peggy Ann Seegar, 78, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
She was born June 24, 1947, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Laurence E. and Ruthmaxine (Botterbusch) Seegar.
She is survived by first cousins once removed: Kevin Kaehlert, Kasey Kaehlert, Clarissa Estrada, Marissa Fogal, Riley Kaehlert, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; cousin Ron Kaehlert and wife, Karen; cousin Stan Kaehlert and wife, Suzanne; and her longtime companion, Jack Norris.
She was a devoted daughter, cousin, and friend.
Peggy was employed by the State of Illinois, Department of Public Aid for 35 years.
She was a lifelong member of the Central Christian Church in Jacksonville, and she helped in the Sunday School for many years. She loved her Church.
She enjoyed her travels, was an avid reader, and took pleasure in her flowers. She valued community, cherishing her monthly lunches with fellow Public Aid retirees. Above all else, her deepest devotion and greatest joy were her closest friends and family.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Jacksonville Memorial Lawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial gifts are suggested to Central Christian Church. Condolences may be left online at airsman-hires.com.

I am so sorry that Peggy is gone! We were in grade school together, and her mother was wonderful as she had our Girl Scout group come to their home where she always welcomed us and taught us many things as we worked toward earning badges together.
