Peggy Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Staples Funeral Home - Gardiner on Jan. 27, 2023.
1945 – 2023
AUGUSTA – Peggy Ann (Childs-Beaulieu) Taylor, 77, of Augusta, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, January 22, 2023, she was welcomed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born in Weeks Mills, Maine on March 11, 1945, the daughter of Harlem and Glenna (Robinson) Childs.
Peggy went to Erskin Academy and received a degree at Plus Gray School of Business. Peggy met the love of her life Ron while waitressing at Mike's Place on Bangor St. in Augusta. She then worked at Ron's market for a while and they were married in 1975. Peggy sold Tupperware for a long period of time being very successful in selling a product she used and believed in. Only when she developed breast cancer did her life change drastically and she ended up having a double mastectomy. From that point on she suffered with many illnesses and health issues causing her countless operations, recovery times, and years of pain. During all of this never once did Peggy stop leaning on the Lord for her strength reading her Bible every morning, attending church when she was able. Peggy was never afraid to share her faith and witness to others, carrying tracks in her purse ready to hand them out, she wanted everyone to have a chance to accept Jesus as their Savior, just as she did.
When she was at home she would watch When Calls The Heart, Reba, or The Golden Girls. She collected tea pots, and black and white cows. When family would come over she loved playing cards. In the years before her husband Ron passed away, they would go every weekend, either Friday or Saturday over to Ron's brother Richard and his wife Theresa's to play cards for hours. Peggy Is well known for her baking, some of the most delicious peanut butter fudge, snickerdoodles (with her own twist), yeast rolls and my personal favorite, soft molasses cookies. Everything she baked had to be from scratch, no box mixes would do for her! Most of all Peggy loved her family, she enjoyed being part of their lives. She had the best smile, it was contagious, her smile would light up a room, and we know she's home with God now because he needed her more.
She is predeceased by her parents; Harlem Childs, Glenna Robinson Childs, her husband Ronald Beaulieu of 25 years. Sisters, Audrey, Dorothy, and Evelyn. Brothers Harlem, Herman, Sam, and Dana.
Peggy is survived by her three children, David Pooler, his wife Vivian, Ricky Pooler Jr, Rona Brown, her husband Matthew. Her Step-Children Ronda, Ronald, Vicki, John, and Priscilla. Many grandchildren: Christina Hales, Danielle Heinze, Christina Pooler, Crystal Pooler, Melissa Mocciola, her husband Zachariah, Emily Brown, Stephanie Brown. Great Grandchildren: Madison Heinze, Brent Hales, Charity Hales, Sophie Elwell, and Jackson Elwell. As well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on February 18, 2023, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 237 Eastern Ave Augusta Me 04330 at 10:00am
Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral Home website, www.staplesfuneralhome.com

My condolences to all of Peggy´s family and friends. Peggy was a friend of my family for years and we all had some good times together and lots of laughs. I was just thinking about going to visit her when I got the news that she was no longer here. Peggy and her Mother visited with me at my Parents house and I accepted Christ. I felt it and knew he was there. I´ll always be grateful for that. RIP Peggy. Your up there with Ron, your Mother and many family members and friends and especially my Mom.
