On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Peggy Maxine Waller Tyler, entered her eternal resting place with her Heavenly Father.
The beginning… A time to be born
Peggy was born on January 25, 1961 to the late Betsy Mae Waller and Mr. Leroy Shelton and raised in Doswell, Virginia.
Life’s Journey …… Living Life and Partying Hard
Peggy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served on the hospitality committee and sang with Unified Voices and the J.W. Kinney Singers. She attended Hanover County Public Schools and graduated from Patrick Henry High School with the class of 1980 where she ran track and played basketball.
Peggy worked for many years in the food industry for Ukrop’s for over 20 years before her retirement.
She loved 2 things more than her family and friends and that was the Washington Commanders (Redskins) and partying hard. If there was a party she was there with her “toddy for my body”. Peggy stayed on the dance floor and would attempt to sing any song that was playing with or without a cup in her hand.
Peggy was a fashionista in her own way. She would accessories every outfit with her socks, her headbands, her sunglasses, and her jewelry.
She loved working in the yard and like the flowers she planted, Peggy bloomed. Her smile, her laughter, her genuineness, her kindness and love of life was felt by all. She was always wanting and willing to help in any way she could.
Going home …… a time to mourn and a time to sing and rejoice.
Peggy touched many lives in her lifetime and she will truly be missed. She will continue to live on in our hearts and memories for who she was, the times that were shared and the words that were imparted.
In addition to her mother, Peggy was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorine Waller and Vanessa Green.
To forever treasure her memories she leaves behind her beloved daughter and daughter-in-law, Monique Tyler (Edwina (Denise); her father, Leroy Shelton, sisters, Deloris Waller, Jeanette Mines and Ammie Derricott ; brothers, Calvin Green and Michael Waller; six aunts; three uncles, one who was Peggy’s favorite, Joseph “Bike” Mines; Nieces, Latisha Jenkins, Jessica Waller, Jenee’ Mines, Jazmine and Calyanna Robinson, Portia Smith and Patricia Green; Nephews, Rico Waller, Tyran Tillman and Tony Green; other cousins, family, and friends; among them devoted cousin, Larry Shelton and Devoted Friends and Road Dogs, Esterine “Ellie” Wyatt, Frances “Tiny” King and Joyce Clark.
