Peggy Wright Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Simpson Funeral Home - Webb City on Dec. 7, 2024.
Well, folks, it's time to pay tribute to a truly remarkable character, our beloved Peggy Wright. Born as Peggy Jean Hensley on July 26, 1956, in Joplin, MO, she was a high-spirited gal who lived her life with a generosity of spirit and an infectious sense of humor. Peggy was creative like Picasso, loyal as a golden retriever, and witty enough to give Groucho Marx a run for his money. She was also generous, not just with her resources, but with her time, her laughter, and her love. As she always said, "Life is like a puzzle, the joy is in putting it together."
Peggy was a master at rug making, a hobby she took up with the same gusto she devoted to her favorite TV show, "Little House on the Prairie." She was a fan of the great outdoors and loved camping, something she probably picked up from all those hours watching the Ingalls family rough it out on the prairie. And let's not forget her love for puzzles - if there was a jigsaw to be solved or a crossword to be filled, Peggy was your woman.
Family was the epicenter of Peggy's world. She leaves behind a tribe of loved ones, including her son-in-law, Charles Dean DePreste, her daughter, Michelle Lewis, and yours truly, one of her favorite grandsons, Seth Adams. Also, surviving Peggy are her grandchildren Charles "Chucky" (Angel) DePreste, Janelle Hasse, Shelby Ketron, Brandi Ketron, Skyler DePreste and Allison DePreste. Peggy was the beloved sister of Mary Roland, Betty Trump, Carol Rockwell, and Frankie Forgey. Not to mention her great-grandchildren: Quincy, Grayson, Marilise, Harrison, Grantlee, Oliver, Nolan, Kiralaine, Finn, Lynevra, and Emmitt – all of whom added to the sparkle in Peggy's eye.
Peggy now joins those who preceded her in death, her parents, Ernest and Carrie Hensley, her husband, Jack Wright, her daughter, Mary DePreste, and her siblings Debbie Gordon and Mike Hensley. We hope they have puzzles and old-timey TV shows in the great beyond.
