Penny Lee Edwards, 60, of Beeville, Texas, passed away on October 1st, 2025. She was born on October 4th, 1964, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Charlie and Beatrice W. Edwards. Penny, known affectionately as "Mema," was known for her cooking of all types of meals, and she was also known for her love of vibrant colors, her night gowns, taking selfies, and most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Penny was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Beatrice W. Edwards, and her granddaughter, Marissa Newson.

Penny is survived by her loving daughters, Ciji (Ashley) Galle and Dallas (Chuk) Deleon; her grandchildren, Mikal (Kulysa) Newson and Mikayla (Jaiden) Newson; and her great-grandson, Lamare James Newson. Also surviving Penny are her brothers, Alfred and Charlie Edwards, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Penny will be held at Trevino Funeral Home on Saturday, October 4, 2025. A visitation will be held from 10:00am - 1:00pm with the funeral service to begin at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Whitsett, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Mikal Newson, Alfred Edwards, Charlie Edwards, Guadalupe Rocha, Bill Galle, and Victor Gamez.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lamare James Newson and Jaiden Stiles.

Penny's life was filled with moments of joy, laughter, and love. She was a woman of grace, and her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all those who were blessed to know her. We invite you to celebrate Penny's life by sharing your memories and uploading photos to her memorial page. Your contributions will serve as a comforting reminder of the life she lived and the love she shared.
