Penny Leigh Shean

Penny Leigh Allred Shean, age 78, of Archdale, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on December 22, 2025. She was born on October 18, 1947, in High Point, North Carolina.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Edith Allred.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Tia, and her son, Todd Shean; nine cherished grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her partner of 41 years, Paul Hendrix, and also by her brother, Ricky Allred.

Penny was a quiet and reserved woman with a genuinely warm and kind heart. She never had an enemy and was known by those who loved her as gentle, compassionate, and endlessly sweet. Her daughter fondly remembers her as "the sweetest woman," a sentiment shared by all who knew her.

She found joy in life's simple routines-playing cards on her computer each morning and relaxing in the afternoons while watching HGTV. Penny loved the beach and especially treasured trips to Myrtle Beach. A devoted dog lover, she delighted in spending time with her new puppy, Bo, who brought her much happiness.

Above all else, Penny loved her family. Her children were her world, and her love for them and her extended family was constant and unwavering.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date to celebrate Penny's life and legacy.
