Perry Gene Goodacre, affectionately known as "P" to his family and friends, was born on July 11, 1974, in Fort Worth, Texas, in the union of love to Perry Gene Martin and Margaret Diane Goodacre. He was a devoted son, brother, and father who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. Perry was baptized at an early age at Samaria Baptist Church in Fort Worth, where he developed a foundation of faith that guided him throughout his life.
In 1993, while facing challenges that tested his resolve, Perry achieved a significant milestone by earning his General Educational Development (GED) certificate. This achievement demonstrated his unwavering commitment to personal growth and education, even under difficult circumstances. Furthering his dedication to self-improvement, Perry later obtained his Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL), opening doors to new professional opportunities and continuing his lifelong learning journey.
A true Texan at heart, Perry had a passion for outdoor grilling, a love for music, and an unwavering support for the Dallas Cowboys. Perry was known for his kind spirit and resilience throughout his life. His greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family and friends.
As the sun set on October 15, 2024, Perry Gene Goodacre was called to his eternal rest. His spirit, embraced by his early teachings at Samaria Baptist Church, now rests in peace with the Lord. We mourn his departure from this world but find solace in the promise of divine reunion.
He is survived by his daughter, Angel Fagget; mother, Margaret Diane Davis; siblings, Cedric Goodacre (Vicki), Stephanie Hixson (Mark), Kathy Goodacre, Anthony Dean Williams, Reginald Hoyle, and Cynthia Hoyle. Perry was a cherished uncle to Kenyian Goodacre, Kenniah Hixson, Frederion Goodacre, Ambreiel Jones, Terrance Hoyle Sr .
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 25 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington. A funeral to celebrate Perry's life will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 10:00am, also at Wade Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at noon at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Arlington where Perry will be laid to rest.
