Pete was born on Sept. 1, 1936, in Brunswick, Mo., to Roy and Martha (Hartman) Hanna, the youngest of six siblings. As a young man, Pete developed a tumor in his leg that prevented him from playing sports, but he remained involved by serving as a team manager for several high school sports teams.
After graduating from Brunswick High School, Pete moved to Texas, where he lived for eight years working construction. He later moved to Michigan, where he met his future wife while working at a Girl Scout Camp Shawandasee in Lawton, Mich. On June 22, 1968, he married Connie Reimer in St. Joseph.
Pete worked for V-M Corporation and Auto Specialties, where he managed computer programming. He later became a bus driver for Lakeshore Public Schools, retiring in 1998. After retirement, Pete enjoyed working at HFS Tractor in Baroda, where he worked on tractors and small engine machines.
Pete loved spending time with his family, whom he dearly cherished. He especially enjoyed camping and spent many weekends traveling and making memories with his family, whether staying in a tent or their fifth-wheel. Pete truly loved going on adventures with those he cherished most, especially taking nature drives with his wife, Connie. They enjoyed searching for wildlife, particularly deer, and capturing photographs along the way.
Pete is survived by his wife, Connie Hanna; son, Brian (Mindy O'Brien) Hanna; grandchildren: Ashley and Madison; sister, Nelda Pearson; and many nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Margaret Ann Hanaway, Charles Hanna, Helen Gillies and Betty Schierhoff.
