Gary lost his courageous battle to cancer on…2/20/26

Born: 11/29/1947 to Irene (Patejdl Austin) and Charles Kuchler of Bridgman Michigan.

Born at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, Michigan

Attended Three Oaks High School.

Graduated from Greer Technical School in Chicago, Ill where he received a degree in Automobile Body Work

Career: Body and Fender work

Raised in Lakeside Michigan by his mother, Irene (Patejdl) Austin and step-father Clifford Austin.

Gary spent the majority of his life living in Indiana and most recently resided in New Carlisle, Indiana at Hamilton Grove where he had made several good friends.

Hobbies include: playing cards, spending time with friends, telling jokes, making stained glass pictures and watching NASCAR.

Gary loved making people laugh. He accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior and was baptized in 2025. Everyone liked Gary. He considered his niece, Angie Greene, one of his favorite people.

He was preceded in death by his mother (Irene Patejdl Austin), father (Charles Kuchler) and step father Clifford Austin; Survivors include; his sister Cindy Austin Reuss (Dale Reuss, brother-in-law) of Stevensville Michigan; Nieces; Angie Greene and Kirsten Klupp (Michael Klupp) of St. Joseph Michigan, and nephew Aaron Greene of Louisiana. Great nephew; Aspen Bargy of Berrien Springs, Michigan and Great Niece; Ayana Harris of St. Joseph, Michigan and Great Great Niece; Kaylynn Bargy of Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Gary will be laid to rest at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville Michigan.

Memorial contributions can be made to The Southshore Concert Band  P.O Box 939  Bridgman, MI 49106.
