Perry Webster Pauley Jr. (1945 – 2025)

Perry Webster Pauley Jr., age 80, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Peyton Hospice House. Born on June 2, 1945, in Ronceverte, Perry was the beloved son of the late Perry Webster Pauley Sr. and Lula Mae Morgan Pauley.

Perry grew up in Ronceverte, where he attended Greenbrier High School. He excelled both academically and athletically, serving as Captain of the Basketball Team and leading them to the state tournament—a testament to his dedication and leadership. Perry continued his education at the San Diego School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in Law, laying the groundwork for a distinguished legal career.

After completing law school, Perry began his professional journey at a law firm in San Diego and made a meaningful impact working with the Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled. Later, he returned to his hometown and established his own law practice in Ronceverte. Perry served as the attorney for both the City of Ronceverte and the Town of Union, demonstrating his commitment to public service and the betterment of his community.

Outside of his legal work, Perry was a man of many interests. He enjoyed watching sports, gardening, and even ventured into acting, with a memorable role in the play “Riders of the Flood.” His diverse passions reflected a zest for life and a willingness to embrace new experiences.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Sr. and Lula Mae, his siblings Ruby Taylor (Howard), Arlene Pauley, Elva Martin (Bill), Theodore Pauley, Dennis Pauley, James Pauley (Jennie), Margaret Pauley, and his brother-in-law Jim Jacobson.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Joyce Colwell Pauley; his son, Perry Webster Pauley III, of whom he was immensely proud; his sisters, Brenda Jacobsen, Winifred Pauley, and Emily Holswade; his sister-in-law, Beth Teleskie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends.

Perry will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his tireless service to his community, and the warmth and kindness he extended to all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the memories shared by family and friends.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by all whose lives he enriched.
