Perry Taylor, 71, of Topeka passed away on Thursday June 19, 2025. He was born February 3, 1954 in Manhattan, Kansas the son of Hazel and Mary Moore Taylor. He was raised in North Topeka. He told stories about riding his bike from home to the Topeka Fair, racing cars on Topeka Boulevard and throwing Cherry Bombs in the bathroom at school. He enjoyed muscle cars, Ham and C.B. radios, and fishing. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed teasing people. Perry was very gifted mechanically and could fix anything. He often made his own tools to get a job done. He and Marjorie sponsored several exchange students into their home who they have remained good friends with through the years.
He worked at the Conoco Gas Station owned by the Dains at Kiro Corner and later a grain elevator in North Topeka. He went to work at Goodyear in 1984 and retired in 2014 as a supervisor.
On June 24, 1972 he married Marjorie Hainline in Topeka
Marjorie survives at their Topeka home. Other survivors include his children, Greg and wife Kim Taylor of Meriden, Aimee and husband Jeff Williams of Topeka and Kari Baker of Topeka; grandchildren, Taryn, Zane, Chance; sister, Joyce Workman and husband Paul of Silver Lake, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild Regan in 2005; a sister Wilma McKenzie and brother in law, Frank McKenzie.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, June 26th at Parker-Price and Davidson Cremations and Funerals, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, Kansas 66608. Graveside inurnment will be held at 10:00 am on Friday morning, June 27th at the Hoyt Cemetery, 10964 Q Road, Hoyt, Kansas 66440.
