August 9, 1937 - August 13, 2025 Peter J. "Pete" Kirkman, 88, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025. He was born in Van Nuys, California, on August 9, 1937. Pete moved with his family to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1950. He was proud to be among the graduates of Las Vegas High School, class of 1956. Pete began his career with the United States Postal Service before joining Wackenhut Security Services, where he served as a Security Officer safeguarding the Nevada Test Site for the U.S. Department of Energy. His dedication and sense of duty spanned decades until his retirement in 1999. Following retirement, Pete and his wife, Donna, settled in Enterprise, Oregon, embracing small-town life and the beauty of the Wallowa Mountains. In 2018, they relocated to St. Anthony, Idaho, to enjoy a quieter pace and be closer to family. Pete will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic, dry sense of humor, and the love he had for his family. He is survived by his wife Donna, and his children, Jolynn (Bob Christensen) and Kevin Kirkman, as well as extended family and friends who will miss him deeply. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
