Pete Taylor

Pete Taylor, age 76, of Holladay, TN passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Taylor was born on September 6, 1947, in Holladay, TN to the late Alvis Taylor and the late Mandy Mozell Buckingham Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Elois Coleman. After retiring from CSX Railroad, he took up logging, and he also worked for TVA several years. He was a United States Army Veteran, while serving in the Vietnam War, he earned the Purple Heart, National Defense SVC Medal, Vietnam SVC Medal, and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. Pete never met a stranger, he loved visiting and helping people. You could find him at a pool hall, playing shuffleboard, or at a card table. He also loved being outdoors, riding backroads in his beloved Chevy trucks, spending time at the river, and he was an avid coon hunter. Mr. Taylor was a loving father and grandfather, and he will be missed dearly.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 12:30-2:30 PM at Oakdale Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:30 PM at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Gulledge officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery in Holladay, TN.
