Peter James Bollenbacher, age 73, of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center. Born July 5th, 1952, to Charles and Ruth (Weyker) Bollenbacher in Sheboygan, Pete grew up surrounded by family and friends who cherished his lively spirit.
Pete attended St. Mary's Grade School in Sheboygan Falls, where his mischievous sense of humor, often shared with his best friend Neil Eigenberger, was well known to the sisters and priests. He graduated in 1970 as part of the inaugural class of Sheboygan Falls High School and later attended UW Sheboygan.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Charles Bollenbacher; his infant son, Patrick Bollenbacher; his sister, Mary Bollenbacher; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Tama Bollenbacher; and his beloved pets, Chewy, Nicki, Peanut, and Spike.
He is survived by his children, Ben (Molly Hron) Bollenbacher and Amy (Dan Suszek) Federer; his friend and former wife, Chris Dotz; and his cherished grandchildren: Olivia, Noah, Andrew, Eleanor, Evelyn, and Grace. Pete is also survived by his sister, Ann (Mark) Bollenbacher Kellner; nephew Nick (April) Bollenbacher; nephew Jesse (Tera) Kellner; niece Jamie (Sean) Collins; and many great-nieces and nephews.
For nearly four decades, Pete dedicated his career to Bemis Manufacturing in Sheboygan Falls. Outside of work, he was passionate about motorcycling, scuba diving, golfing, snowmobiling, boating, and adventurous trips out west. He eagerly anticipated yearly deer hunting trips in northern Wisconsin and relished weekly poker and gin games with friends. His bowling career ended in humorous frustration-with his ball finding its way to the bottom of the Sheboygan River.
Pete forged deep and lasting friendships throughout his life. His family would especially like to recognize Neil Eigenberger, Terry Gencius, Mark Melger, and his sister Ann Bollenbacher Kellner for their steadfast loyalty and support.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate caregivers at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center and Fresenius Kidney Care who provided exceptional care to Pete in his final days.
Visitation will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls at 1 PM on Sunday, October 12th, followed by a service at 2 PM.
