Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care CenterRichard “Dick” Gerald Pool, born to life on March 19, 1945 in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Sheboygan Progressive Health Services.
Dick was an Electronics Technician at Bitter Neumann until his retirement in 2009. He was also involved in several community organizations. He served for many years as President of the Sheboygan Society of Scale Model Railroad Engineers, and was a member of the Sheboygan Theatre Company, where he met his wife, Elinor “Lin” Pool. Dick proudly served both organizations with his expertise. He created digital control for the layout at the Railroad Museum, and he ran the sound department at the Sheboygan Theatre Company for over a decade. Dick’s inquisitive mind served him well throughout his life and he loved to share this knowledge with everyone. Dick will always be remembered for his faith and humor. The wonderful legacy of kindness he has left behind will continue to touch lives through his friends and family.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Progressive Health for the amazing care they provided in the last few months of his life.
Dick is survived by his daughters, Samantha Pool and Tamara Pool, both of Sheboygan. He is further survived by three grandsons, Darren and Michael Covey of Sheboygan, and Gavin Scheibl of Sheboygan; his brother George Pool of Scottsdale, Arizona; his sister-in-law Sue (James) Pool, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Elinor (Hendee) Pool, his parents Gerald Eugene and Ethel Mae (Estabrooks) Pool, his brother and sister-in-law Edward and Rosa Pool, brother James Pool and sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Robert Kelm.
A memorial service to honor Dick’s life will be held at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 623 Ontario Ave, in Sheboygan, on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. A gathering time will take place at 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sheboygan Railroad Museum.
