Peter Frederick Buetow, 54, of Elmhurst IL, went home to Jesus on February 19th, 2024, after a brief battle with multiple respiratory infections.
Pete was born on December 4th, 1969, to Joan Marie LaRue and Kenneth Herman Buetow in Chicago, IL.
After graduating from Lane Tech High School in 1988, he went to SIU Carbondale and then received a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from DeVry.
Pete worked for Teledyne Storm Microwave and made many contributions with dedication and a strong work ethic.
In the 2000's, Pete met Sandra Dudic. They became best friends and were engaged for many years. Pete and Sandra were wed in 2016 and had 1 son, Erik.
Peter was a devoted husband, father, and friend. His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, young son, and all those who knew and loved him.
Pete had many interests throughout life including camping, boating, going on vacation, rooting for the Chicago Cubs, and enjoying an extensive variety of specialty hot sauces. He participated in Church, Boy Scouts, High School wrestling team, and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He enjoyed going to Northern Grace Youth Camp, music festivals, air shows, and going on walks with Sandra and Erik.
Peter joins his mother Joan, father Ken, uncle Richard Buetow, and all grandparents in Heaven.
Surviving Pete are his wife Sandra, 7-year-old son Erik, sister Sharon Hosler, nieces Calista and Jennifer Hosler, nephew Andrew Hosler, aunt Josephine Buetow, cousin David Buetow, cousin Suzanne Dowd, and numerous other cousins. He is also survived by Erik's grandparents Ray and Violet, other family, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 23, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service 2:00 p.m. at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Erik's Education Fund.
