Peter Canerossi Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 11, 2026.
Peter D. Canerossi, 84, passed away on March 5, 2026, in St. Augustine, Florida. He was born on July 22, 1941, in New York, New York, to the late Louis R. and Mildred H. (Ziccardi) Canerossi.

Peter was a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Peter spent much of his career doing what he loved-designing kitchens. As a talented kitchen designer, he enjoyed helping people create beautiful and functional spaces in their homes. He enjoyed playing tennis and especially loved dancing. He was a member of the St. Augustine Ballroom Dance Association and served as its President in 2013. It was there that he met his companion, Hatsue, and the two shared a wonderful love of ballroom dancing together.

Peter is survived by his twin sister, Marilou (Douglas) Parkhurst; sister, Brenda Ressa; his loving companion, Hatsue Wright and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene Canerossi.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 20th at 2 p.m. at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
