Peter Anthony Cashman of Ipswich, formerly of Lynn, MA and Toms River, N.J. passed away on July 19th, 2025 after a lengthy illness just a few days shy from his 70th birthday.
Peter was born in Salem, MA, grew up in Lynn, MA and was preceded by his parents William and Madelyn Cashman of Lynn, MA.
Peter graduated from Lynn Vocational Technical Institute in 1973. In his youth, Peter was an enthusiastic baseball player and held a passion for coin collecting and sports memorabilia. A friendly, outgoing person, he loved meeting people and helping others.
For seven years he was an usher for the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston. He remained a loyal Red Sox Fan all his life and started the Ushers Union.
Later in his life he worked in the building trades as a flooring specialist. Peter was a long-time member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division #10, an Irish-Catholic fraternal organization.
After getting married, Peter moved to Toms River, N.J. to raise his two sons Billy and Sean who he shared his love of baseball and coached them both in soccer.
He later returned to Lynn to care for his aging father.
He leaves behind his two sons, William Matthew Cashman of Manhattan, N.Y. and Sean Anthony Cashman of Chandler, AZ.
He also leaves his four siblings, Susan Kern of Lynn, MA, Bill Cashman and his wife Rita of Andover, MA, Cathy Cashman of Rowley, MA and Eileen Cashman and her life partner John Kellar of Newbury, MA along with several nieces and nephews he adored.
Relatives and Friends will gather for a Memorial Service on Sunday, July 27, 11:00AM at F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Rowley Veterans Association.
