Peter Cline Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center on Jan. 20, 2026.
Peter Allen Cline, 73, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, following a lingering illness.

He was born on December 26, 1952, in Oak Hill, West Virginia and was lovingly raised by Ernest and Faye (née William) Cline. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1971 and continued his education at Lorain County Community College. Peter spent many years working for Bosch before later retiring from CVG in Norwalk, Ohio.

Peter had a lifelong love of music and found great joy in playing the guitar. A man of deep faith, he attended Lorain Lighthouse Methodist Church. He was also actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous and was proud to have celebrated more than 23 years of recovery, a journey that reflected his resilience and commitment to helping others. He often spoke fondly of his grandmother, Eliza William of Crumperneck, West Virginia, whose influence shaped his strong love of God and guided him throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Jacalyn (née Carver); his children, Ernest Cline and Eric Cline, both of Austin, Texas, Christopher Cline of Willard, Ohio, and Shawn Parrish of Sandusky, Ohio; his cherished grandson, Talon Cline, along with several other grandchildren; and his sisters, Sue Hoover of Ashland, Ohio, and Robin Kirkpatrick of Shelby, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lorain Lighthouse Methodist Church.

Private interment will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst, Ohio, at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center.

Uncle Pete,
I will never forget you coming to our house on holidays to enjoy celebrating when we were kids and I will never forget when you and dad used to have a jam session in our garage late at night on weekends. Dad on his drums and you on your electric guitar. Playing songs you knew and some of your own. You will be greatly missed.!!!

Great to have known Pete Cline online. He's a great person and I admire the way they lived with Jaci Cline. They are my role models. Jaci Cline, you are a strong woman and you did your best by always being supportive to him. Take heart and be strong. May Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.

Pete, it's been a long and winding road that we traveled through mountains and valleys. I wouldn't change one minute of our journey. As we often discussed I know you will be waiting for me when my time comes. And when that hapoens we will have completed every promise we made to each other. I envision you resting in the arms of Jesus after these years of suffering you endured. We always ended every day with prayer, a hug & a kiss, that's the part of my day that I will miss the most. "Always kiss me goodnight"

"I loved you then, I love you still,
I always have, I always will"

Jaci, Lou and I are so sorry about the passing of Pete. I remember so vividly when I was in my driveway with a cast on my leg, holding Dakota by the leash watching the dog from across the street run into our driveway. I fell trying to protect Dakota and started screaming. Pete heard me, chased the dog back home and helped me get up. He was my savior on that day. Such fond memories of you and Pete as neighbors
