My heart goes out to you Ila, Carla and Jill and the many other wonderful family members Peter had. Words cannot describe how Peter has affected my life, he was an amazing man and will live forever in my heart. He was not only my mentor but he was like a father to me. He had a keen sense of seeing the good and people and pushing them to thier fullest potential. He will be dearly missed by me and I know everyone else will deeply miss him but he will be forever in our hearts and will work as hard as possible to keep his dream alive the way he wanted it, lord knows he taught us the tools to take care of this.
We will love you forever!!!!!!

My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the Courtney family. Peter was a dynamic leader who carried a bright vison for DDS. His unique and "off the wall" sense of humor always made the day better. He will be missed.

Dear Ila, Jill, Carla and family,
Words cannot describe the impact Peter made in my life. His sense of humor was like no one else’s. There were so many times I would leave his office in tears from laughing at his jokes. I will miss Peter’s keen sense of the potential he saw in people. DDS has lost a great man.

My deepest sympathies to the entire Courtney family as this is truly a great loss. I’ve spent the last eight years working for (excuse me), working with Peter. Peter has always believed in me and was available to help me with any concern. He has advised me over the years, sometimes telling me what I didn’t want to hear. I respect Peter for being honest and blunt with me. I will miss him.

Courtney Family:
I have known Peter most of my life, I think my father started working for DDS when I was 5 or 6 years old. Then following in my fathers footsteps I joined the DDS family in 2000. Peter welcomed me with open arms and had mentioned what a joy it was to have me work for him on numerous occasions. My favorite memory of Peter is when I first found out I was pregnant (with twins) and I was sent home from the warehouse because the doctor had put me on restrictions. I was hurt and crying and trying to figure out how I was going to support my new family without being able to work. Peter called me at home and said, "Monica, I hear you got yourself in a bit of a pickle. Listen there is far too much you can do here. Come back in tomorrow and we will find something for you to do." Me already being emotional started to cry again and I thanked him and told him how great it was to work for such a wonderful man and company. He said, "Monica that is what an employer does for dedicated, hard working employees."
I will miss Peter very much and I doubt a day will go by when I wont think about him and the impact he has had in my life.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Ila and the rest of the Courtney family in this hard time. I remember being at the DDS company picnics when I was little and how much fun Peter was, and then later on when I got older I came to work for DDS. There are still times that I miss being part of the DDS family, and I think I’ll always feel that way. Thank you Peter for making those memories wonderful for me, and I’ll always treasure them.

Dear Ila, Jill and Carla,
I'm sorry to hear of Peter's passing. There will never be quite another person like him. He was a driven man in each of the businesses he owned, but thoughtful enough to have always kept the "family" theme to all those that worked for him.
In my years at DDS, it impacted me how he would take time out of his morning to walk up and down the aisles to say good morning to each person...a gesture you don't find that often these days.
Your family will be in my thoughts.
God speed Peter.

Dear Ila and Families,
It is with a heavy heart that my family and I mourn the loss of Peter; but looking back on the memories made brings a smile to my face. Growing up in the Simmental Youth Program he was always in my corner, as he was for every junior. I can honestly say that my thirteen years in the AJSA would not have been what they were without his influence and friendship. His enthusiasm about life was contagious and his influence will not be forgotten. We were blessed to have known him and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

My prayers go out to the Courtney family. I know you have lost a great person. I didn't know him personally but when I saw him he treated very nicely. I knew him and his wife through the Simmental shows and sales in Kentucky. He always had smile on his face and looked to brighten up the events. I know he had good cattle and I'm sure he did to. I will say this, I'm sure he wanted to win but it a the end of the world if he didn't. He will be missed by alot of people. The Courtney family will be in my prayers.

Rarely, on our path in life, do we have the privilege of meeting a person like Peter. Every aspect of his life was dedicated to bettering other peoples lives. There was no ego with Peter - he wanted you to be the best you can be and that was his reward. We all shall miss his charm, intellect and the exquisite energy we felt every time he walked into the room. You know when he reached heaven, God gave him a hug for a job well done! Please know that the Courtney family is in our prayers.

Dear Ila,Jill,Carla and families.
When I first came to work at DDS in 1987, I was a first time brand new Grandma. Peter started calling me Granny from the very start and that stuck the 20 years that I was there. He was a very special person and I am sure that you will miss him terribly. I know that I will and as all of the DDS family will.
