Peter Luther Cox

Peter Luther Cox, age 85, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Sebring, Florida. He was born on May 14, 1940, in Kano, Nigeria in Africa, the son of missionaries, Harry and Cornelia (Renkema) Cox. Peter worked in the floor cover industry; proudly served his country in the United States Army. Peter was honored to be a Football Coach including coaching at Sebring Highland and in Connecticut. While in Connecticut he coached Bridgeport Central High School where he had a lasting and profound impact upon the young men he coached and guided through life. He has been a resident of Sebring, Florida since 2013, coming from New Haven, Connecticut, and he attended Alliance Church of Sebring. He is survived by his wife, Lucie Cox of Sebring, FL, his daughters Louisa C. Milligan (Patrick) of Hingham, MA, and Kirsten Cox (Timothy Guiterman) of Shelburne, VT, son Brett Cox of Stowe, VT and stepchildren Catharine (Hlupeki) Phiri of Lake Placid, FL, and Matthew L Wilkins of Tulsa, OK,; and 6 grandchildren Aeden, Mia, Kody, Ollie, Andsen, and Ariberto.
