Peter Damiano Obituary
ALBANY - Peter A. Damiano, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Peter was born on January 29, 1936, to the late Leonard and Helen (Tondera) Damiano. He grew up in the Albany area and attended Albany high School. After high school, Peter started a career as a mechanic which was his passion. You name it and he could fix it! He even taught his ex-brother-in-law Eddie to be a great mechanic.
Peter also enjoyed flying planes. He had a personal pilot's license and could frequently be seen flying a Cessna. He also owned horses in Saratoga which he raced for over 20 years. Peter was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion in Albany, and the Polish Club.
He was a devoted Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany.
Peter was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Virginia (Grounds) Damiano; and his brother, Leonard Damiano Jr.
He is survived by his stepchildren, Christina Cummings, Victor (Laurie) Haischer, Marilyn (John) Fuhr, Anna (Steve) DeVos; his siblings, Mary Damiano-McGraw, Patricia (Mark) Busch; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., in Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany, with entombment to follow at Memory Gardens, in Colonie.

Both your Parents were My Parents long time friends
Bob and Millie Bohen. Your Mom worked with my Dad for many years till he passed in 1994, My Mom passed in 2012..and I Bought my first house from Marilyn and John on Lester St. your Dad actually picked out a surprise car for Parents to give me on my 16th birthday a White Valiant, and Pete put schackles on the rear end so it was up in the air looked like a hot rod..lol...Great Great Person, as was your Mom and even Petes parents we also knew, shared so many laughs with all of then growing up as a kid....fondest of memories forever will I always carry in my mind and heart..Sincerley
