Peter Dupre Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Douglass Funeral Home - Lexington on Aug. 25, 2024.
With deep sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Peter Daniel Dupré on Tuesday,
August 20, 2024, at the age of 64, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Peter
leaves behind a legacy as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, pastor, and
friend-one defined by a life of living much and loving much.
Peter's approach to life was marked by zeal, curiosity, genius, discipline, creativity, delight,
optimism, vision, and strength, all of which were fueled by his love for others and his faith in
God. His perspective, shaped by sacrificial love, illuminated every remarkable endeavor he
undertook, and there were many.
A visionary technologist and entrepreneur for over 35 years, Peter held multiple C-level positions
in both private and public companies. He launched several startups, including Cloudpath
Solutions, LLC, where he served as Founder and CEO for nine years, and SmarTrak, where he
was Co-Founder and CTO until his passing. He also held roles such as CTO at Repair Ventures,
LLC, and Olive.com, VP of Enrollment Solutions at Jenzabar, and CIO for W.B. Mason
Company among others. His work in technology earned him a stellar reputation, with
innovations ranging from early machine learning systems to some of the first eCommerce and
mobile applications for B2B use. He even graced the cover of industry magazines and gave
lectures at MIT. His passion for technology began when he was a teacher and co-franchise owner
at California Computer Schools during the early days of the personal computer revolution.
To follow his calling as a full-time pastor, he joined the Pastoral Leadership Team at Grace
Chapel, Lexington, where he served as Pastor of Worship and the Arts from June 2006 to May
2011. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in launching Saddleback Church's "Celebrate
Recovery," 12-Step Recovery outreach ministry for individuals struggling with, hurts, habits, and
hang-ups.
In September 2011, Peter answered the call to plant a non-denominational church with his wife,
dedicated to "loving God, loving people, and blessing the world." The church was run entirely
by volunteers, including Peter himself while he continued to work full time in technology. As the
Lead Pastor and Church Planter of Revive Community Church, he led the congregation for 11
years, sharing over 600 sermons until October 2022, when his cancer metastasized. His ministry
profoundly impacted many lives as he mentored with a deep passion for God's love. "What
would love require?" or "Put others needs before your own" among many others were his
common mantras. Under his leadership, Revive Community Church actively served both the
local community and globally, particularly through the non-profit micro-finance organization
PEER Servants, where Peter served for years. Recently, his mentorship there extended to
Ugandan youth involved with the recording studio label "Adullam Records," and he developed a
deep love for the Peruvian community of Kallarisunchis, a micro-finance ministry in Peru he
served through PEER Servants.
Peter was born a gifted musician and singer, playing the piano as soon as he could reach the
keys. He went on to master numerous instruments, performing in various bands and recording in
his home studio throughout his life. Music was a lifelong passion, from his high school days with
"The Dupre Brothers Band" to writing full orchestral pieces, rock songs, and ballads. He even
sold two of his songs to Donny Osmond and the Osmond Brothers. His most recent song, "Not
Today," written during his battle with cancer, offers a beautiful and encouraging perspective for
those struggling with the disease or supporting a loved one. You can listen to it on YouTube here.

Peter had a great talent for acting on stage and musical theater, taking on leading roles from high
school through adulthood in both professional and community productions sometimes sharing
the stage with his wife and kids. Peter was in the original cast and soundtrack recording of "The
Curse of the Bambino."His record label, "Beachhouse Records" produced the album, which is
now featured in the Baseball Hall of Fame. You may have seen him on TV a few times as a
contestant winning on game shows or acting in a few car commercials. Additionally, he spent
many years writing and directing dramatic scripts, which were brought to life in live
performances or on video during church services.
Peter embraced a daily early morning routine that included prayer, voraciously reading both
books and the Bible, savoring a morning latte, playing 'Wordle,' and learning Spanish on
Duolingo. His passions extended to sailing, baseball and golf as well as hiking and tennis. His
profound love and zeal for life, people, and God will forever leave an immeasurable impact on
those who knew him.
Son of the late Forrest F. Dupré and Henrietta (Brown) Dupré, beloved husband of 44 years to
Lorraine L. (Drewett) "Lori" Dupré, loving father to Kristin (Theroux) Ingram and her husband
Jeffrey Ingram of Melbourne, Florida; Janson K. Dupré of San Diego, California; Jacqueline L.
Dupré and her husband Adam Kale of Cambridge, Massachusetts; Joshua P. Dupré and his
fiancée Jenna Goodman of Belmont, Massachusetts; and Jessica N. (Dupré) Pooley and her
husband Robert Pooley of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Cherished brother to Forrest Dupré,
Gerald Dupré, Paul Dupré, and Tina (Dupré) Kraaima Schiele, and a proud grandfather (Pepe) to
Grace Dupré, Jax Dupré, Erik Ingram, and Jayden Dupré. Peter is also survived by many loving
nieces and nephews.
All are respectfully invited to attend Peter's funeral Friday August 30 at Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Road,
Lexington, MA. Visitation in the Sanctuary will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by the funeral
service at 10:00 AM. Light refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall at 11:00 AM.
Burial and interment will take place privately with family at Mount Auburn Cemetery in
Cambridge, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter may be made to the non-profit micro-finance
organization PEER Servants, to the "Peter Dupré Memorial Fund," accessible on their website:

I only met Peter Dupre once when he was helping his son Josh move into my second floor apartment. He made an amazing impression on me as a loving father helping his son move. I´ve seen Lori many times when she came to babysit for her grandson Jaden. I followed Peter´s courageous battle with cancer and while he will be missed by family and friends. I´m glad he´s finally at peace. My heart felt condolences to Lori and his family. Rosemary Oliva
