Peter Flashinski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thorp Funeral Home on Dec. 9, 2025.
PETER PAUL FLASHINSKI, age 77, was called by the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025. Pete passed unexpectedly in his farmhouse from a heart attack.
Pete was born on January 25, 1948 in Stanley, WI to Peter and Agnes (Terlikowski) Flashinski. He was one of seven children raised on his parent's family farm in rural Thorp, WI. Pete graduated from Thorp High School in 1966. He attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (aka: Moo U), and in 1970, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree with a major in Animal Science.
Pete purchased his parents' 160-acre family farm in 1972 and started "Flash Farms". Pete milked dairy cows until 2002 and raised beef cattle until 2008. Pete led numerous renovation projects around the farm including a new machine shed/shop in 1992 and a new milking barn in 1994. Pete was also a seed corn dealer for 50 years, starting in 1975. After the cows left the farm, Pete focused on raising cash crops and a custom farming business, "Flash Farming". In 2007, Pete partnered with his son Jeff to create the grain storage business known as "Flash Grain".
Pete spent his entire 77-year life living in the same farmhouse on his family farm, leaving only once to attend college.
Pete met Bonnie Lou Witmer at a mutual friend's Halloween party while still in college. They married on October 18, 1975. Together, Pete and Bonnie prioritized family values and hard work as they raised their five children on the farm.
Pete is survived by his five children: Mark (Heather) Flashinski, Doug (Bia) Flashinski, Jeff (Tory) Flashinski, Karen (Darin) Delaney, and Julie (Zach) Bauer; thirteen beloved grandchildren: Nicholas, Helayna, Lydia, Selah, Brielle, Bradley, Clayton, Lucas, Emme, Ellie, Maksym, Ryker, and Bailey; five siblings: Art, Stan, Lou, Rose Ann, and Roger; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie (August 3, 2025), his parents, and his sister Caroline.
Pete was hardworking, innovative, and resourceful. He often repurposed parts to fix or create something new. Pete will be remembered for his infectious laugh, innovative mind, mechanical know-how, love of silicone caulk and duct tape for quick fixes, and his willingness to do anything for his family. He will be dearly missed, yet we grieve with hope in everlasting life with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
A public funeral service for both Pete and Bonnie will be held at St. Bernard - St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp, WI at 11am on Monday, December 15th. A public visitation will be held at the Church from 4-7pm Sunday, December 14th and again from 10am until time of service on Monday, December 15th. Internment for both Pete and Bonnie will be at Sylvan Cemetery in the Township of Reseburg in rural Thorp, WI, at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Pete & Bonnie requests that donations be made to the Thorp Catholic School. All five of their children attended this school from 1983-2002.
As Pete often said when it was time to say goodbye, "GOOD LUCK TO YOU!"
