Peter Fuller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home - Warwick on Jan. 26, 2026.
Peter F. Fuller, 72, died the morning of January 21, 2026 at his home in Warwick, RI. He was married to Joan Barrett Fuller for over 50 years, and is survived by their son Peter B. Fuller and his wife Katherine (D'Ascenzo) of West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Peter was the oldest child of Revilo C. and Beatrice (Cunningham) Fuller. He grew up in Thomaston, CT and attended Thomaston Public Schools. He graduated from Providence College where he and Joan were classmates. He earned Master's Degrees in Library Science and Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island.

Peter spent his career as a public librarian. He worked in North Kingstown, East Greenwich, Pawtucket and Lincoln before joining Seekonk Public Library. He served the people of Seekonk for 24 years, first as the Associate Director and then as the Director of the Library.

Peter was blessed with a wonderful family and group of friends. His four younger siblings survive him: Donald D. Fuller (Brenda), Susan M. Fuller, Margaret M. Protzmann (Donald) all of Connecticut and Timothy R. Fuller (Stacy) of Maryland. He is survived by his in-laws, Jane Carosi (Bill), Judy Barrett, Robert Barrett Jr. (Michelle) all of Rhode Island, and Michael Barrett (Christine) of Connecticut. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He treasured his friendships and decades later still remained close to his childhood friends and Providence College classmates.

Peter was a long-time member of Christ the King Parish in Kingston, Rhode Island where he served as a eucharistic minister and member of the liturgy committee. In his spare time Peter enjoyed walking the family's dog at City Park, working in the yard, golfing and watching his beloved New York Mets and Providence Friar Basketball. He shared a special love of music and baseball with his son, Peter.

Peter was a dedicated public servant and believed well-supported public libraries are essential parts of the communities they serve. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Warwick Public Library (600 Sandy Lane, Warwick, Rhode Island 02889) or (Seekonk Public Library 410 Newman Avenue, Seekonk, Massachusetts 02771) and would be greatly appreciated.

He will be remembered as a great husband, father, brother, and friend who had a passion for good music, a terrific sense of humor, and a love for sitting out in the backyard around a fire, sharing a beer and good laughs with those he cherished most. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29th at Urquhart Murphy Funeral Home in Warwick, Rhode Island from 8:30 to 10:00am. His funeral mass will be held the same day at 11:00am at Christ the King Church (180 Old North Road Kingston, Rhode Island 02881)

Dear Joan and Peter, Our hearts go out to your family. We don´t have to tell you want a gentle man Pete was, you saw it first hand and everyone else did. Quiet and respectful to those around him. God has a special place for him at His Alter. The Gallagher Family
