Peter R. Gifford

Peter Roy Gifford, 65 passed away unexpectedly at Backus Hospital surrounded by his family and loved ones on December 3, 2024. He was born February 19, 1959 in Burbank, California, son to Charles Gifford and Myrtle Gifford(Jacobs) and was husband to Barbara, previously married to the late Lisa Marie Gifford. Together Pete and Lisa had two children. Jesse Gifford and Sarah Gifford. He attended Parish Hill. After school he went right into the working field. For many years he was a cement truck driver the last company he was employed for was Coby Luck Sand and Gravel. The family moved to Stafford, CT. But then settled in Willimantic, CT where you could always find them throwing a family party. Pete loved riding his Motorcycle with his bride Lisa by his side.
He loved being a part of the motorcycle community, where he met a lot of lifelong friends that became family. He also enjoyed being in the woods and the outdoors, where you could find him fishing, hunting, camping and anything else outdoors. If you couldn't find him you'd find him in the garage at Pennywood tinkering with the bikes.
These last four years Peter has been loved by Barbara and we are so thankful for that. They enjoyed camping together and recently bought a camper how excited was Pete for this new luxury of camping. They both had a love for Harley's as well. That 3 wheeler! He will be remembered for absolutely everything about him. His love, humor, his answers to Sarah's questions. His advise. His bear hugs. His voice on phone. That contagious laugh and most of all his snoring.
He is survived by his wife Barbara. His son Jesse Gifford and wife Niccoletta. Their kids (his grandkids) Austin, Isabella, Anastasia and Adriana. His daughter Sarah Gifford and her kids (his grandkids) Lisa and Jeremiah. His son Justin Legacy. His brothers George, Paul. His sisters Judy, Mary, Jesse, Catherine, and all his nieces, nephews, cousins. His beloved dog Coco. Family, friends, and many others who's lives were touch by Peter.
He was predeceased by His parents Charles and Mrtyle Gifford and his wife, Lisa Gifford (Waite). In Lou of flowers please donate to Help the Gifford Family in Their Time of Loss, organized by Niccoletta Gifford.
Calling Hours will be held at Potter Funeral Home, located at 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic CT, on Friday, December 13th, 2024 from 5pm till 7pm.
