Peter A. Giraldi

Peter Arthur Giraldi, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away in the presence of his family on March 5, 2025, in Elmhurst, IL at the age of 81. Born on June 6, 1943, at Columbus Hospital in Chicago, Peter was raised in Elmwood Park, IL where he built a life rooted in family, integrity, and a passion for the things he loved. Peter is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Giraldi, his three children - Laura (Fernando Soler), Lisa (Eric Nuss), and Paul (Jennifer Henry) - his cherished grandchildren - Alexander, Adam, Brooklyn, Blakeleigh, and Beckham - and his loving siblings, Fred (Janice Giraldi) and Peggy (Mike O'Connor). Peter is preceded in death by his parents Jordan and Rose Giraldi.
A man of energy and pride, Peter lived life to the fullest, always giving his all in everything he did. He instilled strong values in his children and grandchildren, and embodied fairness and respect. Known for his sense of fun and his playful habit of bending the rules, he was a storyteller, a teacher, and a source of wisdom and laughter for those around him.
Peter's passions were as vibrant as his personality. He took great pride in his 1969 SS 396 Chevelle, found joy on the golf course and bowling alley, and never missed a chance to cheer on the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, creating lasting memories with his kids and grandkids.
A visitation to honor Peter's life will be held at Pederson Ryberg Funeral Home, 435 North York Street, Elmhurst, IL 60126 on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 3:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in Peter Giraldi's name and/or honor.
Peter's legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the stories he shared, and the love he gave so generously. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
