Peter “Pete” Allen Grams passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at his home in the town of Green Lake, WI.
The son of Herbert and Delila (Dunn) Grams, he was born on October 13, 1954, in Ripon, WI. Pete graduated from Ripon High School in 1973, and spent many years working various automotive jobs. On August 3, 1985 he married Brenda Jahns, and they were married for 36 years. He was an avid fan of Corvettes, the Green Bay Packers and golf. He was a big part of the community as a member of the Markesan Chamber of Commerce, the Markesan Lions Club, and Devil’s Head Ski Patrol. His passion for cars led him to the Ripon Area Car Enthusiasts and the Blakely Auto Parts store in Ripon, where he worked from 1974 to 1994 as the parts manager. In 2000, he bought the Markesan Auto Home and Farm. He loved the work he did, and worked there until he passed.
Pete is survived by his sister, Marial (Nick) Ludwig of Ripon; his nephews, Darrel Ludwig of Ripon, Jonathan (Barbara) Ludwig of Oshkosh, and Michael (Dawn) Ludwig of Neenah; several cousins and many friends. Great-nephews Devin and Eli Ludwig of Neenah, his black lab, Morticia; former wife, Brenda Jahns of Ripon; and the Jahns Family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Delila Grams; brothers, Dennis Grams, Larry Grams; grandparents; several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Visitation for Pete will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, following the visitation at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Rev. Karin Derenne officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in his name.
In honor of Pete, everyone is invited to drive their classic cars, weather permitting.
