Peter D. Haigis Sr.

Peter Daniel Haigis, Sr., 60, passed quietly and unexpectedly in his sleep at his home in Worcester, MA on May 13, 2023. Peter was born on April 18th, 1963 in Bellingham, MA the son of the late Robert L. Haigis and Margaret (Segreve) Haigis formerly of Uxbridge, MA.
Known to most as Pete, Peter spent most of his childhood in Natick, MA, a member of the Alter Boys at St. Patrick's church, local Boy Scouts with his Dad as Scout Master, and several sports teams. Peter was well known for his incredible sense of humor, spirit for adventure, and inherent Irish wit and humor. He was a 1981 graduate of Natick High School.
Following high school, wanting to serve his country, Peter joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Pease Air Force Base, Portsmouth, NH. Peter served tours of duty in both the Gulf War and Iraq War. He received an honorable discharge in 2004, completing his military career of nearly 24 years as a Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard.
Peter is predeceased by his loving parents Bob and Peg Haigis, and survived by his son Peter D. Haigis Jr. and wife Natalie Higgins of Leominster, MA, daughter Stefanie L. Haigis, their mother Dawn M. Dubois, and grandson Isaiah Leclerc of Millbury, MA, brother William R. Haigis and wife Sandra of Ooltewah, TN, sister Kathleen (Haigis) Earley and husband Gregory Earley of Lyman, ME, brother Michael T. Haigis and Sú Onorato of Natick, MA, nine adoring nephews and nieces, and two grandnieces.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 1, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St, Milford, MA 01757.

Peter will be laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
