Peter David Johnson

Peter D. Johnson, 63 of Wabeno, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Peter was born on October 1, 1962, in Woodruff, the son of Walter and Eleanor (Long) Johnson. Peter was in Boy Scouts growing up. He was a true outdoorsman. He loved nature and spending time walking in the woods. Peter was filled with compassion for others and would help anyone in need. He was a woodsman and would help others by taking care of their yards, cutting their grass and making firewood.

He was a social butterfly and everyone in the community knew him. He had a love for Indian Chief Harley Davidsons and was an avid bicyclist. He was a competitive bicyclist and earned the name 'Billy Goat' as he mastered the inclines. Peter was very funny and loved having fun, enjoying life, eating, watching Netflix and going for rides. Above all, he loved spending time outdoors where he always found peace.

Peter is survived by his siblings, Walter Johnson Jr. of Berkley, CA, Crystal (Daniel) Deschinny of Laona, Candice (Alan) Johnson of Apple Valley, MN and Andrea Johnson of Wausau; seven nieces and nephews, Jacob, Ophelia, Jamela, Gerald, Jaiden, Skylar and Heyla; great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Rose and Pete Johnson and Elizabeth and Nat Long; brother, Marcus; niece Alaytra, and great niece, Adaysha.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 9:00am until 11:00am at Siga Funmaker Community Center with a light breakfast provided. Devotional Services will be held at 11:00 with Mr. Christian Roth leading. Burial will follow in Sox Mii Nuk Cemetery, Wittenberg. There will be a luncheon to follow the graveside at the Siga Funmaker Community Center.
