Robert John Knitter

Robert J. Knitter, 83, of Eland, died on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Eastview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Antigo.
Robert was born on August 16, 1942, in Milwaukee, the son of John and Agnes (Mlodzikowski) Knitter.
On September 6, 1969, Robert was united in marriage to Mary Kriesel, in Wittenberg. She preceded him in death on August 3, 2019.
Robert drove truck for Wausau Homes for many years. He enjoyed working at home, doing small engine repairs. Robert loved hunting and snowmobiling.
Robert is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald (Peggy) Wierzba, Cathy Burke and Eugene Kriesel; nephew and godson, Todd (Audrey) Wierzba; niece, Keri (Todd) Check; great nieces and nephews and special pet dog, Oscar.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Sandra Wierzba.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galloway. Rev. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 9 AM until the time of Mass, at the church.
