Peter Jodenschwager
April 4, 1942 – October 3, 2025
Peter Jodenschwager, 83, of Battle Ground, Washington, passed away on October 3,
2025, after courageously living with Parkinson's disease for over two decades. Peter
was a member of the Lewisville Park congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Born in Berlin, Germany, on April 4, 1942, Peter immigrated to the United States and
proudly became a citizen in 1967. Shortly thereafter, he served his adopted country with
honor in the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that brought him both distinction and a
profound sense of awareness.
Peter was the beloved husband of 54 years to his spirited and talkative wife, Georgene,
who lovingly joked that getting a word in edgewise was one of his greatest
accomplishments. Together, they built a life full of laughter, adventure and enduring love
and devotion.
He was a devoted father to four children: Howard (Angie) Jodenschwager, Tanya
(Jaider) Quintero, Derek Jodenschwager, and Karina (Robert) Cox. His legacy
continues through his cherished grandchildren – Cynthia, Jordan (spouse Josie),
Victoria, Haile, Addison, Ava, and Bobby – and his great-granddaughter, Winnie
Jodenschwager. Peter is also survived by his mother in Berlin, who is 103 years old,
along with extended family in Germany.
Peter had a zest for life and a remarkable spirit. He loved to travel, sing along to his
favorite tunes, and cheer on his favorite teams Hertha BSC and Bayern Munchen. He
was always eager to share his knowledge of history and geography, along with stories
and smiles with those around him. There were also years of memories made camping
at Cape Lookout State Park.
His warmth, wit, and love for his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. A
private family service will be held to celebrate Peter's life.
