Peter Mark "Paula Marrie" Kersten

Peter Mark Kersten (Paula Marrie Kersten) was born in Westland on August 2, 1967, and passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was adopted by Donald and Kathleen Kersten in Ann Arbor. Peter graduated from Pioneer High School. He completed the automotive program at WCC and was 6 credit hours short of a BS in psychology from EMU. He had a medical discharge from the US Marine Corp. Peter worked at a variety of jobs, including restaurants, landscaping, and over-the-road trucking. He was married for 10 years.

Peter transitioned to Paula in 2010. She had a passion for being a first responder and had her car equipped with extra lights and radios. Paula had several health issues, the last being a larynjectomy, and bravely endured the painful cancer treatments. She is now at peace with her Lord.

Paula is survived by her mother, Kathleen Kersten; sister, Kelle Kersten (Robert Flately); Aunt, Phyllis Kersten; family friend, Louise Williams; Aunt, Maurine Nelson (Trautz); and cousin, Carole Kersten (Robert Burns).
