What a wonderful introduction to life my daughter with Dr. Kesling as as the receiving doctor. So sad to hear of his death. I hope you can take comfort in how important he was to so many.

When I approached Pete to support my desire to become a Nurse Practitioner he was eager to do so. For this I will forever be grateful.
My condolences to his family. As time passes I hope the veil of your grief is lifting a bit. Julana Hansmeier

Dr Kesling saw me through two pregnancies, a surgery, and was my ob/gym until he retired. He greeted me with a smile on his face and always had great one liners and hats during procedures. He knew what he talking about and he did it with card and ease. Even when he was dealing with health issues he focused on you!! I cried when he retired! You will be missed and our community was better with you in it!!

I worked with Dr. Kesling from 1981-1990 as one of the Stork Midwives - who later became Franciscan Midwives. Peter Kesling, MD, was the first private practice OB-Gyn in Pierce County to embrace nurse-midwifery. He supported and defended the revitalization of midwifery in our country. When you look at how midwifery has grown in the Franciscan Health Services, know that Dr. Kesling was the one who believed in our profession and put his license and business behind his beliefs.
I could always count on Dr. Kesling's expertise when a situation required medical back-up. He made good medical decisions when things got tough on behalf of the women under midwifery care. He loved his work and generally had a chuckle or smile on his face at the office and at St. Joseph Hospital.
Condolences to his family and friends for their very sad loss.

Please accept my condolences for the loss of Dr Peter Kesling. He was my Ob/Gyn for 30 years. I admired and cared for him as a person. He helped me so much when I hit a personal low in my life. He was so supportive. I used to see him at the St Joseph Chapel and at the Bellarmine Crab Feed. Godspeed Peter!

I am so sorry for your loss. He touched many people and was a great man. He delivered all 3 of my children and I also worked with him when he was at Madigan. That is how we met. He will be greatly missed.
