Peter gave me, along with 20 or so others in our Bible Class at SAMC, a rosary that had been blessed by Pope Francis. Peter had just returned from a trip to Rome where he visited the Vatican. Peter was asked to and did tell the class about his visit and in his unique style had us all excited and wanting to go to see the Vatican. I saw Peter several times during the week at SMAC. Peter and I often talked about the daily readings and homily of the day. Peter exuded peace in all of our encounters. I will miss Peter.

Over his career at St. Edward´s I was lucky enough to be a beneficiary of Peters scientific acumen, a witness to his abilities as a teacher, and a recipient of his friendship. His students loved him, his peers respected him, and his friends treasured him. Ultimately our loss was the University of Texas´ gain as Peter continued his vocation in the classroom and the lab. I wish to assure his family, especially Cami and Claire, that there are many academics whose personal and intellectual life was enriched by Peter J. King Ph. D. He lives in our memory as he lives in your hearts.

I witnessed Pete´s kindness, generosity, and selflessness not only to me but to those around him.
I will miss hearing about Claire, Roma, and the live nativity event you looked forward to attending.
May you find blessings in the next life. I´m gonna miss you my friend.

Always asking if there was something he could do for me at Sage. He would pass below my balcony when he walked his fur babies to the dog park and always had a big smile and hello. I miss my friend Pete. Flo

I met Dr. Pete when he moved into our over 55 community at Sage Plumcreek. He was one of our youngest community members and over the last two years. We got to know each other real good. And I was very influential in getting him back to the Catholic Church where he became on fire with his faith. He was always a kind and gentle man and I will never forget him. Rest in peace, brother Pete.
