Peter David Larsen, 78, loving husband of Ellen Luby, passed away on January 13, 2026. Born in New Britain, CT, on January 10, 1948, he was the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Nevelos) Larsen. He resided in Meriden and Middlefield and graduated from Maloney High School. He attended UConn and CCSU.
Peter was employed by Gaylord, in Wallingford, and was a substitute teacher at Coginchaug Regional High School. He was a veteran who served honorably with the U.S. Army. Did he ever tell you about his time in Naples, Italy? He was an affable presence in any room he was in.
Peter's most cherished memories were his travels across the Caribbean with Ellen. He enjoyed golfing at Hunter's, attending UConn basketball games with his son, and trips to the casino with his brother, Ernie.
In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by his son, Alexander Luby Larsen, and his wife, Jen Larsen. He was predeceased by his brother, Ernest Larsen Jr.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. There will be no services and burial is private. A Celebration of Life at Hunter's Golf Course in Meriden will be announced at a later date.
