I have great memories of Sumner Road and Mr. And Mrs. Lavelle. Michael and Louise too. And the pool: `71-73 not so much but after! Those days are not forgotten. Matthew Fraser

We were greatly saddened to hear that Peter had passed away. It's still difficult to believe. He was an exceptional teacher, a wonderful husband and father, a kind, gentle, thoughtful person. He touched everyone's lives with whom he came in contact. I knew him as a colleague; our son Jesse Carton knew him as a teacher. Peter will be sorely missed.
We know that he will continue to live in your hearts and minds as you share your stories and memories with each other.
We send you all healing thoughts.

To the Lavelle & Quinn families,
It was with great sadness that I read of Peter's recent passing. I have known Peter and Marie for many years, meeting Marie back in the 60's when she was a park teacher at Tech Field. What wonderful, cheery personalities they both had. Although I moved many years ago, every time I attended the 8am @ St. Mary's while home, I would be so happy to run into them and talk in front of the church about how all their children were doing and just being amazed! They will be missed by many, many people in Brookline and beyond!

Louise, Michael, Julie and Courtney,
Please know that your Dad was like a second dad to me and my siblings, when we were growing up, as he was to tons of other kids in Brookline, because he was such a kind and caring parent and teacher.
He taught us how to program computers, back when you had go into a computer room to use a computer!
I will always remember him and try to be like him for my children.

The Lavelle's were a memorable, outstanding family in Baker School history. Peter and Marie were exceptional parents who supported their children and the teachers. Their values were sterling .
I will always remember Peter as a total gentleman - kind and helpful. He was a valued colleague and friend. I was a new staff member and he was always so helpful when I had a question or concern about. anything. Plus, he was so charming with his twinkling eyes and slight Irish lilt in his speech. Everyone admired him.
His memory lives on in the hearts of many of so who knew him in Brookline May The Lord comfort his family.

I remember the bright sunny fall day that Carol Pomfret and I met Peter and Marie Lavelle for a tail gate Party with Julie (Pomfret) and Mike Lavelle at Harvard. When the game was over we did not know what to do with the Hibachi that was still going so Marie and Peter said they would walk home with it. I remember these two happy people walking away together. I picture them now walking into the gates of Heaven together surrounded by the love of those who went before them and the ones they left behind.
