Peter Lopenzina Obituary
Pete was born on April 12, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to mother Mary Chack Elder and father Frank Lopenzina.
In 1962 he married Linda K. Chaplin Lopenzina in Akron, Ohio and were happily married for 61 years.
Pete was preceded by mother Mary Elder, father Frank Lopenzina, stepmother Frances Lopenzina, sister Nancy Elder.
He is survived by wife, Linda Chaplin Lopenzina. Children, Gloria Lopenzina Derrick, John Lopenzina and Angela Lopenzina Warpoole. Grandchildren Natasha Phillips Jameson, Colby Warpoole, Marisa Derrick, Maurice (MJ) Derrick Jr. and 5 great grandchildren. Sister Carole (Wayne) Hose and brother Lenny (Chris) Lopenzina.
Pete was an icon in the shoe industry for over 50 years. He started his career with Bostonian, later retiring from Genesco, Johnston and Murphy, in 2008 after 30 incredible years. Due to his love of retail and people he went on to work with our friends at Care Free Pools. It was a stretch from the footwear industry, but Pete could sell ice to an Eskimo.
Pete was the most loving, sincere, and supportive husband, brother, father, Papa, uncle, and friend. He never met a stranger and treated everyone like family.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at the Church of God, 2011 St. James St. Murfreesboro, TN 37128, Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 1:30pm - 3pm followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 3pm.

My brother Pete was the most loving, caring man I have ever known. He meant so much to me it´s hard to put into words. I loved his early morning calls to me several times a week, and moved to later day calls when he became so I´ll. I can´t imagine my life without him. Whenever I would come visit with Aunt Gloria he planned the best things to do, like Chaffin´s dinner theater, Duling Grounds best of all we´re meeting in Lexington KY at Keelande twice a year to have a wonderful buffet and watch the horses races. Pete was luckier than I was and Linda and I would bet all the long shots. Wayne would say every other horse would have fall down before those two horses could win, well it was looking like Wayne was right, our two horses were so far back, then there was a big wreak and Linda and my horses won and our $2.00 bet across the board won us 100´s of dollars. He was always so happy whenever anyone did good or was happy about something that happened in their lives. Pete Loved his family especially Linda and of course me his favorite sister with all his heart. When I would call him his phone rang "ITS YOUR SISTER YOU BETTER HURRY AND ANSWER ITS YOUR SISTER CALLING". My niece Gloria set that up on his phone for him. When he answered he always said it´s your sister calling better answer, we would laugh so hard.
I love you my brother, my dearest most loving friend with all my heart till the day I see you again. I know you´ll be waiting to take care of me like you always did my whole life.

My deepest sympathy Lopenzina family. We have met Pete and Linda through the Nicholson´s...always enjoying the opportunity to see them. Pete was so kind and will be remembered by so many.
