Peter F. Marks "Opa" 83, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at Hospice with family by his side!
Peter is survived by his wife Pattie; sons P. Christopher Marks(Shannon), Hans Marks(Laura), stepchildren Heather Hess(Greg), Shawn O'Connell(Jen), Kyle O'Connell(Missi), &Ryan O'Connell(Mary); grandchildren Sean, Megan, Owen, & Hannah Marks, James(Harley), Hailey, Kirsten, Kylee, Walter, Makayla, Kali, Rylie, Harry, Thea, DJ,& Paige, Two great grandchildren, Sister Gertraude Barton, Nieces Suzan, Christina(George), & Hillary(Jeremy) & hosted German student Nele Tanneberger(Timon). Peter was predeceased by brother Hans J. Marks, nieces Cindy & Jane Barton.
Born in Osnabruck, Germany, the culinary arts entrepreneur German immigrant settled in the United States in 1966. Peter was the executive chef at The Host Farm, Eden Resort, & Foodergong later opening his own business, Three Crowns Restaurant & Travel Lodge. He was a dedicated, hardworking man who took great pride in serving German American cuisine with his master chef skills to many friends & the community.
He was a passionate golfer, fisherman, and played cards with his buddies. A member of the Elks Lodge 134, Lancaster Liederkranz, and Commercial Travelers Club. He enjoyed traveling the world, going to the beach with Pattie and families along with watching all the grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am -11:00am followed by a Celebration of Life from 11:00am - 12:00pm on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Grace Community Church of Willow Street, 212 Peach Bottom Road, Willow Street, PA 17584.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice & Community Care, Lancaster Liederkranz, or Lancaster Elks Lodge 134.
