Doris G. Rittenhouse, 98, of Lititz, passed away on January 27, 2026 at Luther Acres Retirement Community. She was the loving wife of the late Leon G. Rittenhouse.
Born in Columbia, PA she was the daughter of the late Oscar J. and Mary E. (Griffith) Gundel.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Columba High School, Doris spent her professional career as a secretary at Hamilton Watch, campaign manager for the United Way, and in her later years volunteered in the library at Lancaster General Hospital. Much of her adult life however was dedicated to her family as a homemaker.
In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, reading, volunteer at her church and traveling extensively through Europe.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Lynn Rittenhouse Allison (wife of Ronald) and Gail Rittenhouse Baker (wife of Dean). Also surviving are grandchildren Katherine (wife of Sean), Steven (husband of Selena), Collin and Alexandra; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ella, Ethan and Norah. In addition to her late husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Oscar, Paul and Robert Gundel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 308 Petersburg Rd, Lititz, PA 17543 on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doris’ memory may be made to the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church at the address listed above.
