Roxanne Bentzel Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stradling Funeral Home - Akron on Feb. 7, 2026.
Roxanne "Roxi" Bentzel, 72, passed away on February 5, 2026, following health complications. Roxi lived a life defined by quiet strength, deep devotion to family, and a generous spirit expressed through service, creativity, and love.
Roxi was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald "Benny" Bentzel, who passed away in June 2009, her brother Kearney "Slim" Silvius who passed in April 2015, and her cherished grandson, Colin Feltis, who passed away on October 21, 2025.
She is survived by her three sons, Timothy A. Feltis and his wife Erin Wooley; Troy A. Feltis and his wife Kristy Feltis; her granddaughter, Delaney Feltis; and Brian Bentzel and his wife Crystal; her grandson Evan and granddaughter Elizabeth "Lizzy"; four siblings, Karl G., Karen M., Dawn M., wife of Michael Poli Jr., and Christine M., wife of Robert Longfors; and her nieces and nephews. Above all, Roxi was devoted to her twin boys, Tim and Troy, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Roxi proudly served her country in the United States Air Force as a Telecommunications Operations Sergeant from 1971-1975. Her commitment to service continued long after her military years. From 1995 to 1996, she served as Commander of the AMVETS Post 136 in Ephrata, while serving as a member for more than two decades, demonstrating her dedication to fellow veterans and her local community.
A longtime resident of Ephrata, Roxi made her home there for nearly 40 years before relocating to Lansdale, to be closer to family. During that time, she worked at RR Donnelly and Sons in Lancaster and Superior Walls in New Holland. During her years in Ephrata, she became known for her kindness, reliability, and willingness to step in wherever help was needed. Most notably, she lovingly supported her daughter-in-law Kristy by caring for her grandson Colin while Troy was deployed, an act of quiet sacrifice that reflected the depth of her love for family.
Roxi had a creative soul. She loved sewing and was an accomplished quilter, creating beautiful quilts for her family and for infants in NICU through Project Linus. Her hands stitched warmth, comfort, and care into every piece she made. She delighted in all things tie-dyed, and her favorite color, purple, perfectly reflected her individuality and joy.
Roxi will be remembered for her resilience, her service to others, her unwavering love for her family, and the countless lives she touched through simple, generous acts. Her legacy lives on in the quilts she made, the family she nurtured, and the example she set of service, loyalty, and love.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 5:00-7:00 PM at Stradling Funeral Home (30 N 9th St, Akron). A funeral service will follow from 7:00-8:00 PM.
