Lloyd Witmer Obituary
He was born in Martindale, Earl Township, to the late Abram B. and Cora (Sensenig) Witmer and was the husband of Vicky E. (Adams) Witmer. They married on November 18, 1961.
He was a member of Akron Mennonite Church for many years. He was also a member of Studebaker Driver's Club. He was last employed alongside his brother, Melvin, in their business, Witmer Brothers, repairing automobiles. Previously, the Renault Dealership, Lancaster County Motors, I-W service at Greystone Park, NJ, and Trojan Boat Company. In his free time, he was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed deer hunting.
Lloyd had played fast-pitch softball for many teams, bowled at 222 Dutch Lanes, and drag raced a Studebaker at Maple Grove and US 30 Drag Oway.
In addition to his wife, Lloyd is survived by three children, Teresa Witmer of Akron, Jennifer Witmer of East Petersburg, Jeffrey, husband of Donna Witmer of Maryland; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, Abram S. Witmer, Harold S., husband of Cathy (Martin) Witmer, Willis, husband of Martha (Fry) Witmer; a sister, Alma W., wife of Ervin Miller and a sister-in-law, Ellen (Fry) Witmer.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by three siblings, Helen, wife of the late Menno Nolt, Melvin Witmer and Ray S., husband of the late Jackie Witmer.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 1 to 2 PM, at Stradling Funeral Home, 30 North 9th Street, Akron, followed by his funeral at 2 PM. Interment will take place in the Akron Mennonite Cemetery.
