Peter P. "Pete" Needham

Peter Patrick Needham, known affectionately as â??Peteâ?� to his friends and family, passed away on August 27, 2025, in Medford, Massachusetts. He was born on February 17, 1960, in Somerville, Massachusetts, to the late Peter E. Needham and Rita (Bowdren) McKinnon, who now resides in Ogunquit, Maine. Pete was also blessed with the guidance of his late stepfather, Dan McKinnon, with whom Rita made a life in Somerville before moving to Ogunquit in later years.

Pete was a lifelong tinkerer with a deep love for creating and working with his hands. A graduate of Somerville Trade High School, Class of 1978, he built on his education to become a licensed master electrician in 1987. He went on to own and operate Peter Needham Electrical and HVAC for many years, where he took great pride in serving local families and earning their trust through his skill, integrity, and dedication. Whether it was building, fixing, or exploring new ideas, Pete found joy in bringing things to life. Beyond his work, he was also an active member of the Masons and the Wyoming Lodge in Melrose, Massachusetts.

Pete is lovingly remembered by his wife, Arlene (Pann) Needham; his stepchildren, Jordan Mackie and his wife Danielle, and Shaina (Mackie) Melville and her husband Michael; and his step-grandchildren, Xavier and Jacob. He also leaves behind his brother, Daniel Needham and his wife Maureen, of Salem, New Hampshire, and their daughter Charlene; his aunts Jean (Bowdren) Howard and Cathy Bowdren; his cousin Kelly Howard; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, September 5, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford, Massachusetts.
